Free for all Friday 11

Y’all, I may have shot my wad last week, vis as vis freeing it for all. That’s a lot of links. This week I have proportionately fewer. As in, one? Look at ArcAttack performing the Doctor Who theme on Tesla coils:

Honu Girl just sent me that. Is that not the coolest thing you have ever seen? Or at least seen this week? I know, right!?

Here’s an awesome Rorschach Wanted Poster. In less awesome Watchmen news, Hollywood Elsewhere has a review from an early press-and-studio-exec screening and the news is apparently not good. I’m not going to quote any of it, mostly because I’m busy sticking my fingers in my ears, closing my eyes and singing la la la over and over again.

Did you watch Dollhouse last week. I did. I thought, “Meh.” We had fun playing the which-other-Whedon-character is this card. And watching Negotiator Echo act like the Buffy Bot. But mostly, meh. Tonight’s episode is supposed to be better. We’ll see.

No, I still haven’t watched any Heroes. I know I need to. It’s apparently Sylarier than ever. I’m going to try really hard to do that this weekend. Really, I was explaining it to someone yesterday, I feel like my boyfriend cheated on me, and then, when confronted, was a total dick about it. And now he’s asking me to take him back, without even promising he won’t do it again, and everybody’s telling me, “Sarah, you should totally give him another chance. Just one more. It’ll be better this time, I promise.” That’s the feeling I’m trying to get up over.

What is cool with you?

  1. I haven’t watched Dollhouse yet, and with what I’ve heard, I’m not sure I want to. It’s still sitting on my DVR, along with a gazillion eps of Burn Notice that I need to catch up on. This week has not be good for TV watching, and I don’t see the next few weeks being much better, so I don’t know about adding another show onto my list of things that get stashed on the DVR until I’m home sick and actually have time to watch.

As for the Heroes thing, if you’re feeling that way about it, don’t worry about watching it. It’s not THAT much better, I don’t think, even if it is filled with Sylar-y goodness.

  2. I’ve recently come to the revelation that I don’t like watching TV series unless I can watch them marathon-style. For instance, I stopped watching Heroes once I had caught up to the current run. I’ll probably go back and watch all the newer episodes in a few months or something. Same with with Battlestar Galactica. Right now I’m watching the first season of The Wire and it’s effin’ great. Anyone else that way about series?

I totally agree about Dollhouse, by the way. It has potential, though.

If The Watchmen sucks I don’t even want to imagine what the backlash will be like.

  3. About this Sylar business, I know what you mean. But you are better than I.

Was it the Elle arch? Cause I feel like I had the same boyfriend but he left me for you, and now I just stalk his ass. >_>

ps did my book get to you? I’m afraid to bug, but I’m buggin’. :(

  4. Me! DVDs are the greatest thing to ever happen to TV shows.

  5. Kira and I are busting out a dress tonight, so I don’t think we’ll be able to crash anyone’s house to watch the airing of Dollhouse. We’ll have to settle for internet streaming tomorrow night. I look forward to it.

Also, I adamantly refuse to read or look at anything involving potential reviews for The Watchmen. If it sucks, it will suck. Until I see it, I remain hopeful.
